Introduction Often health technology assessment (HTA) products developed by the Scottish Health Technologies Group (SHTG) did not reach clear directive conclusions because evidence base for a was weak. Despite being methodologically robust, these meet needs of decision-makers and may have had negligible impact. Methods SHTG set out to equip empower recommendation-making council (that is, appraisal committee) conclusions. broadened HTA components types that could be considered. The increased breadth included: clinicians attending meetings respond questions; patient groups making submissions presenting at meetings; Scotland-specific economic modelling; consultation on draft recommendations. also restructured improved deliberative decision-making. Results Clear were reached in substantially higher proportion (eighty-eight percent 2019 compared with eight 2017).
